Stylists Isabella + Erin Master Razor Skills at Bb.U

Stylists Isabella and Erin attended a razor cutting workshop at Bumble and bumble University in New York City. The education provided by Bb.U is top in the industry, known for its dedication to consultation skills and product knowledge in addition to fundamental cutting and styling skills.

While Isabella and Erin are experienced in razor cutting, the workshop explored and honed advanced techniques that create a variety of looks, from a light feathery ends to a strong precise baseline.

Coby Alcantar + Gardner Edmunds Reveal Inner Layer Haircut

Oribe Educators Coby Alcantar + Gardner Edmunds, highly sought after stylists in the current world of hairdressing. Coby owns Little Axe Salon in Brooklyn, NY where she creates fun and effortless styles for her clients, and Gardner’s salon home is Ramirez Tran Salon in Beverly Hills, CA. His notable clients include Lea Michele, Olivia Palermo, Rebecca Minkoff and Kim Cattrall.

Their combined expertise brought incredible energy to this class, which focused cutting inner layers that don’t sacrifice overall length of the hair. This technique can be used on all lengths of hair. The final look was a light and airy style that allowed the hair to move freely. To style the haircut, they used a combination of Oribe Foundation Mist, Maximista and Featherbalm on damp hair, and twisted the hair damp and let it air dry.

Stylists Katie + Libby Attend Bumble & bumble Leadership Series in NYC

Members of Samuel Cole Salon’s Education Team, stylists Katie and Libby are instrumental in teaching several cutting, coloring and styling classes to Associates who go through our Immersion Program. Committed to build leadership, technical and teaching skills, they attended Bumble and bumble University’s Network Educator Series at Bb.U in New York City.

The three-day course included sessions on product ingredients, leadership, presentation skills and hands-on styling. Educators demonstrated techniques that Bumble and bumble’s Global Artistic Director Laurent Philippon used to style runway models for Lacoste at New York Fashion Week. Katie and Libby loved these techniques, as they applied them in a hands-on session with live models.

Oribe’s Classic Bob: The Haircut of Fall 2017

Adam Livermore, a stylist at Muze Salon in New York City and Oribe Educator, demonstrated the haircut everyone in “The City” is asking for: the Classic Bob. Brilliant for a variety of hair types – fine to thick density and straight to wavy texture – the Classic Bob can be air dried for an undone casual Saturday stroll in the park or polished to perfection for a formal cocktail hour.

R+Co Lead Educator Robert Vazquez Demonstrates “The Chop”

Supermodel Karlie Kloss made this cut famous when R+Co Co-Founder Garren cut her long bombshell locks to a short length just below the chin. Vogue named it “The Chop” and it sparked the long-bob trend, revived recently when Garren, again, cut and styled Kendall Jenner’s hair for Vogue’s coveted September Issue.

Robert Vazquez has worked with Garren for 13 years, gaining invaluable experience that has shaped his career as a hair stylist and educator. Vazquez wanted to create a “wash-and-go” style for his model, a new mom with an infant at home. He styled her cut with R+Co’s Sail Soft Wave Spray, spraying it all over her damp hair, then finishing with a rough blow dry – without a brush. He emphasizes that the right haircut, and using the right products, can drastically simplify your daily styling routine.
