Samuel Cole Salon Stylists Attend Bumble and bumble University in NYC

November 18-19, 2013 (NEW YORK CITY) – Samuel Cole Salon recently sent three of their stylists for advanced education at Bumble and bumble University in NYC. Kelsey Wright, Erin Grogan and Veronique Breault attended a two-day workshop that was devoted entirely to styling hair entitled Styling I. They improved their foundational skills and fine-tuned their command of tools and products. They learned to control the flat brush and round brush and the virtue of consistency through replication by styling multiple models in hand-on sessions.

“Attending Bumble and bumble University was a truly amazing experience. What a phenomenal opportunity to improve my skill set. I am looking forward to taking what I learned back to my clients at Samuel Cole Salon,” said Veronique.

Samuel Cole Salon Works New York Fashion Week

September 7, 2013 (NEW YORK CITY, NY) – Samuel Cole Salon educator and stylist, Jenny Smith worked backstage at New York Fashion Week with the Sebastian editorial team on Christian Siriano’s 2014 Spring Collection show at Eyebeam Atlier. Smith created exotic, beachy pony tail styles inspired by Christian’s extended stay in Mexico.

“Executing the look to perfection with the fast pace rush to complete 35 models while Christian did a calm stroll through backstage to see his vision come together was unforgettable. Working with lead stylist, Anthony Cole and the entire Sebastian team was fabulous. The passion for our craft filled the room. I look forward to my next backstage opportunity,” said Smith.

Jack Ray recreates “El Chupacabra” at Samuel Cole Salon

June 8-10, 2013 (RALEIGH, NC) – Samuel Cole Salon owners, Jack and Joelle Ray along with salon top stylists, Sara Beard, Carolyn Nord, Cara Harrison and Alley Biehl attended Oribe’s Backstage 2013 held in Miami. The multi-day event featured “La Fama”, an electric presentation celebrating all that is Latin.

As part of the Backstage Hands On Workshop, Beard, Nord, Harrison, Biehl and Jack Ray delved into the artistic side of things and transformed their models into “El Chupacabra”. Oribe encouraged participants to create their own interpretation of this mystical monster and name it. “It was all about hairdressers expressing themselves,” said Oribe. “I was blown away by the magic of the runway show.”

Upon their return from Miami the stylists hosted a class recreating the “La Fama” event at Samuel Cole Salon. Each Samuel Cole Salon stylist had the opportunity to interpret the inspiration and transform their models into “El Chupacabra”.

“Working with Oribe is always amazing. He is so creative, open and generous. We love having him as a mentor,” said Joelle Ray, owner of Samuel Cole Salon.

(2013 NEW YORK CITY) – Samuel Cole Salon recently sent two of their stylists for advanced education at Bumble and bumble University in NYC. Kristi Kessler and Tiffanie Spellenberg attended a two-day workshop that was devoted entirely to styling hair (no cutting) entitled Styling I. They improved their foundational skills and fine-tuned their command of tools and products. They learned to control the flat brush and round brush and the virtue of consistency through replication by styling multiple models in hand-on sessions.

“The greatest thing about the experience was realizing that the passion our team at Samuel Cole Salon has is so powerful. Seeing that same passion within a different group (like Bumble & bumble) was so inspiring. I came away with a feeling of accomplishment and excitement for my future as a hairdresser,” said Kessler.

“BbU was such an amazing experience. I got to hone in on my styling ability and learn new skills that I can bring back to my clients at Samuel Cole,” said Spellenberg.

September 17-19, 2012 (NEW YORK CITY, NY) – Jack and Joelle Ray, owners of Samuel Cole Salon in North Raleigh, along with master stylist, Sara Beard traveled to New York City to attend a three day workshop entitled “Session Skills and Photo” at The Redken Exchange. They worked with top editorial stylist, Noah Hatton who’s impressive resume includes him working with Cosmo, Harper’s Bazaar, Town and Country, Vogue, W, Glamour, Tommy Hilfiger, Laundry, and Cynthia Crowley to name a few.
