April 8-9, 2013 (New York City) – Samuel Cole Salon Senior Stylist & Mentor, Nikki Galloni recently returned from Bumble & bumble University in NYC where she attended Curl Workshop. The intense two day advanced course is designed to apply Bb U Design School’s scissor, razor, and styling techniques to analyzing different curl textures, talking about them, and creating suitable long and short shapes with precision and control (and adding your own professional signature). Galloni engaged in daily hands-on sessions with multiple models. She learned how to conduct effective curl consultations and deliver on these by utilizing cutting and styling techniques specific to curly textures.

Continually expanding my knowledge and creativity is very important to me. Raleigh, NC – Samuel Cole Salon stylist, Lauren Munns, worked backstage at this year’s Governor’s Inaugural Ball. Munns styled hair for musical guests, The Avett Brothers and Parmalee, two NC bands who performed during the ball. The event celebrated the incoming governor with a night of fashion, music, dancing and fun. It was a chance for the who’s who in North Carolina to relax and have a little fun after a long election season.

“It was an honor to work with such amazing artists and to be a part of such a momentous occasion,” said Munns.

Samuel Cole Salon Stylists Attend Bumble & bumble University in NYC for Advanced Styling Class

(2013 NEW YORK CITY) – Samuel Cole Salon recently sent two of their stylists for advanced education at Bumble and bumble University in NYC. Kristi Kessler and Tiffanie Spellenberg attended a two-day workshop that was devoted entirely to styling hair (no cutting) entitled Styling I. They improved their foundational skills and fine-tuned their command of tools and products. They learned to control the flat brush and round brush and the virtue of consistency through replication by styling multiple models in hand-on sessions.

“The greatest thing about the experience was realizing that the passion our team at Samuel Cole Salon has is so powerful. Seeing that same passion within a different group (like Bumble & bumble) was so inspiring. I came away with a feeling of accomplishment and excitement for my future as a hairdresser,” said Kessler.

“BbU was such an amazing experience. I got to hone in on my styling ability and learn new skills that I can bring back to my clients at Samuel Cole,” said Spellenberg.

November 12, 2012 (RALEIGH, NC) – Samuel Cole Salon owners, Jack and Joelle Ray along with Master Stylist, Sara Beard held an Editorial Photo Session workshop. Each stylist worked with models to add shots to their editorial portfolios. Stylists crafted mood boards, then created several “looks” on their models. Owner, Jack Ray was on hand to photograph the finished work.

“It was so inspiring and exciting to watch our stylists let their creative genius flow as they translated looks from their mood boards to their models,” remarked Joelle.

Samuel Cole Salon Send Stylists for Network Educator Training at Bumble & bumble University in NYC

October 22-25, 2012 (New York City) – Samuel Cole Salon stylist, Cara Harrison attended Bumble & bumble University in New York City to participate in the exclusive Network Educator training program. According to Bumble & bumble, the Network Educator School “trains top talent in our Network salons to help inspire creativity, superlative customer service and retail success. Hairdressers at the height of their careers can translate their dedication, passion and expertise to their fellow stylists.” As a Network Educator, Cara will help conduct training workshops within Samuel Cole Salon.

“NE 1 at the House of Bumble was an exhilarating experience that pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me gain confidence in my abilities as an educator. It was yet another affirmation of how great the hair industry is and where you can take your career in this exciting field,” said Harrison.
