Alejandro’s class featured hair coloring with an emphasis on the finishing texture. Dusty, vintage textures are gaining momentum on social media – shades appear soft and gentle due to powdery filters. Stylists observed Jiminez’ color placement that re-created insta-filter inspired hues with textures such as vintage wood, leather red and satin blonde.
My mind was blown by the impact of his color placement in the model’s red hair. It really made her color pop, and in the same amount of time as her regular appointment would have been.

Alexandra Matiz is a Wella Color Superstar with over 20 years of experience in hair coloring at the highest levels. She has gained her experience and education in Europe as well as the United States. We were excited to host Matiz because of her experience in touring with Oribe Ateliers and being a Top Artist for Wella Color. Her involvement in Wella TrendVision competitions as a contestant, judge, and presenter inspires stylists to apply editorial techniques and styles to their daily hair coloring routines.
