(2013 NEW  YORK CITY) – Samuel Cole Salon recently sent two of their stylists for advanced education at Bumble and bumble University in NYC.  Kristi Kessler and Tiffanie Spellenberg attended a two-day workshop that was devoted entirely to styling hair (no cutting) entitled Styling I.  They improved their foundational skills and fine-tuned their command of tools and products.  They learned to control the flat brush and round brush and the virtue of consistency through replication by styling multiple models in hand-on sessions.

“The greatest thing about the experience was realizing that the passion our team at Samuel Cole Salon has is so powerful.  Seeing that same passion within a different group (like Bumble & bumble) was so inspiring.  I came away with a feeling of accomplishment and excitement for my future as a hairdresser,” said Kessler.

“BbU was such an amazing experience.  I got to hone in on my styling ability and learn new skills that I can bring back to my clients at Samuel Cole,” said Spellenberg.

October 22-25, 2012 (New York City) – Samuel Cole Salon stylist, Cara Harrison attended Bumble & bumble University in New York City to participate in the exclusive Network Educator training program.  According to Bumble & bumble, the Network Educator School “trains top talent in our Network salons to help inspire creativity, superlative customer service and retail success. Hairdressers at the height of their careers can translate their dedication, passion and expertise to their fellow stylists.”  As a Network Educator, Cara will help conduct training workshops within Samuel Cole Salon.

“NE 1 at the House of Bumble was an exhilarating experience that pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me gain confidence in my abilities as an educator.  It was yet another affirmation of how great the hair industry is and where you can take your career in this exciting field,” said Harrison.

September 17-19, 2012 (NEW YORK CITY, NY) – Jack and Joelle Ray, owners of Samuel Cole Salon in North Raleigh, along with master stylist, Sara Beard traveled to New York City to attend a three day workshop entitled “Session Skills and Photo” at The Redken Exchange. They worked with top editorial stylist, Noah Hatton who’s impressive resume includes him working with Cosmo, Harper’s Bazaar, Town and Country, Vogue, W, Glamour, Tommy Hilfiger, Laundry, and Cynthia Crowley to name a few.

“The workshop was so inspiring and a great creative outlet for expanding my editorial skills,” said Beard.

(New York City) – Jack and Joelle Ray, owners of Samuel Cole Salon along with one of their top stylists, Sara Beard visited New York City to work the runways at New York  Fashion Week.  The three styled hair for the designers of Skaist-Taylor, a new line by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, co-founders of Juicy Couture.  The new line was unveiled “city style” on a runway set up in a NYC parking garage.

Skaist-Taylor boasts day-to-night dresses in flattering cuts, shrug-on knitwear, cotton-cashmere blend sweatshirts, and a variety of vaguely boho accessories.

“Loved this show. The clothes were amazing. The designers were super friendly and fun and I got to meet John Taylor from Duran Duran (he’s married to Gela Nash-Taylor), said Joelle Ray.

(New York City) – Jack Ray, co-owner of Samuel Cole Salon returned to New York City to showcase his editorial work on the runways of New York Fashion Week.  He styled hair for multiple designers such as Chado Ralpho Rucci, Karen Walker, Herve Leger, Yigal Azrouel, and Alexandre Herchcovitch.

“What a phenominal experience. It was an honor to work beside the best in the beauty industry,” said Ray.
