Samuel Cole Salon stylists Erin Grogan, Kelsey Easley, and Veronique Breault recently visited Bumble & Bumble University in New York City to participate in their Design Studio Workshop. The stylists were inspired and challenged after studying with master hairdressers at the House of Bumble.

The intensive 2 day workshop focused on customizing cuts to the clients lifestyle, habits, and wants, using an unguarded razor.

The stylists honed their skills, discovered different ways to focus their ideas, and mastered the latest cutting techniques and trends.

The design studio workshop was such a great experience! I learned so many different techniques, like how to create volume and movement, with only a razor. I’ve always been comfortable with one, but after spending a few days with the educators at Bumble and Bumble, I can confidently cut and style hair using an unguarded razor. Everyone at Bumble and Bumble is so talented and I always come back with so much valuable knowledge”, said stylist Erin Grogan.

Owner and Master Stylists Attend Exclusive Color Workshop in New York City

Master Stylists Carolyn Nord and Nikki Galloni-Keply along with Samuel Cole Salon owner, Jack Ray recently attended Bumble and bumble University’s Color Workshop. The master level color workshop featured in-depth analysis of skin tones, development of the creative eye and your individual signature color formulation. Each day featured detailed and rigorous demonstrations designed to push the colorists to explore their color sensibilities and expand their boundaries. The Samuel Cole Team were able to apply what they learned in the classroom by working hands-on with models each day.

Senior Stylists Hone Their Skills at Bumble and bumble’s Design Workshop

The award-winning Samuel Cole Salon recently sent Senior Stylists; Tiffanie Spellenburg, Kristi Kessler and Natalie Bowers to Bumble & bumble University located in New York City’s historic meat packing district. The stylists enhanced their skill set by studying with master hairdressers at Bumble in a rigorous cutting class entitled Design Workshop. These Samuel Cole Salon stylists honed their skills, found inspiration and discovered different and unique ways to focus their ideas, expand their repertoire, and learn to view hairdressing in new contexts.

“Design Workshop really pushed me outside of my box with the straight razor. I am so inspired and can’t wait to bring my new advanced skills back to the salon,” said Spellenburg.

Kait Hu, Lauren Munns, Chelsea LePage and Morgan Tunnell recently attend the prestigious Bumble and bumble University in NYC. The team of Samuel Cole Salon stylists participated in a two-day hands-on styling master class. Expert Bumble and bumble educators put our stylist to the test and pushed them to take their foundational styling skills to the next level. The class was entirely focused on the art of styling and featured classic styling principles involving the flat brush and round brush. The virtue of consistency and replication were enforced by styling models in hand-on sessions under the intense eye of industry veterans.

V76 by Vaughn Inaugural Education Event in NYC

Samuel Cole Salon co-owner, Jack Ray along with stylists, Cara Harrison and Alley Biehl attended the V76 by Vaughn Inaugural Education Event held at the Vaughn Studio in NYC. The event was invitation-only for exclusive salons and was designed to educate stylists on the inspiration behind the line and Vaughn’s philosophy on men’s grooming. Vaughn is revered as a top international grooming and editorial stylist.

“What an honor to spend the day with Vaughn, the most sought after mens groomer in the country. It was truly inspirational to learn from the man who’s clients range from Tom Brady to William Defoe to Bill Clinton to Bruce Springsteen. He really expanded our concept of mens grooming,” said Ray.

“I really was impressed by how the class was more about changing the way we view mens haircutting and grooming and looking at it like an overall look, as opposed to a specific cutting technique. It was enlightening to learn from Vaughn and his team. They are so good at what they do, ” said Biehl.

“The V76 workshop was all about making every man into a “leading man”. We, as their stylists, truly are responsible for tailoring their look from the neck up to meet their lifestyle and hair requirements,” said Cara Harrison.
