Samuel Cole Salon Enjoys their 5th Annual Awards Celebration

January 28, 2012 (RALEIGH) – Jack and Joelle Ray, owners of Samuel Cole Salon hosted their 5th Annual Holiday Awards Celebration. The red-carpet event took place in downtown Raleigh at the Sheraton. The Ray’s host the event each year to celebrate the accomplishments and success of their salon team.

Top performance awards were given to the following winners:
Sara Beard- Stylist of the Year & Client Educator of the Year.

Carolyn Nord- Runner Up Stylist of the Year & Runner Up Client Educator of the Year.

Veronique Breault- Associate of the Year

Nichole LuMaye- The Carpe Diem Award

The Rays recognized the dedication and excellence of their Guest Services team, Heather Densford, Amanda Crane, Stephanie Tate and Ashley Orr. The Ray’s also thanked their management team for their outstanding performance and commitment.

Joelle Ray along with stylist, Sara Beard, hosted the popular award’s night segment – The “Bob’ies” – which featured a tribute to each team member.

“I love our annual awards party. We have such an amazingly talented, hardworking group at the salon. Each person contributes so much to the overall success of the salon. It is fun to hang out with everyone and simple say “thank you” for another terrific year,” said Joelle.

Editorial Powerhouse, Ronnie Stam Returns to Samuel Cole Salon for a Hands-On Editorial Event

January 2, 2012 (RALEIGH, NC) – Samuel Cole Salon owners Jack and Joelle Ray enlisted the expertise of legendary editorial stylist Ronnie Stam. Stam was brought in to teach a hands-on workshop to Samuel Cole Salon’s top stylists and educators. Each stylist worked one on one with Stam to create looks on their model to build their portfolio.

“Ronnie was so personable and taught me how to classically set hair as a basic foundation for anything imaginable for print or runway looks. It was inspiring to take in Ronnie’s thought process while “on set” for our own photo shoot. I added some incredible editorial pictures to my portfolio,” remarked Samuel Cole Salon Master Stylist, Sara Beard.

Ronnie’s work has graced top global fashion publications, TV commercials, advertising campaigns, calendar’s, music videos and many special projects. One of the personal highlights in Ronnie’s career has been to work exclusively and tour with world known rock bands The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith.

Raleigh Salon Owners Assist Oribe at Intercoiffure’s Fall Atelier 2011

October 15-17, 2011 (NEW YORK CITY, NY) – Intercoiffure’s 2011 Fall Atelier featured legendary hair stylist, Oribe Canales. To assist him in bringing his vision to the stage, he enlisted the help of Jack and Joelle Ray, owners of Samuel Cole Salon. The Rays spent tireless hours styling hair for all of the models for an incredible segment that Oribe designed. His vision was inspired by statues in an abandon train station in Prague, the French song “Gigi Amarousa”, and a painting by Oribe himself. The Rays got to immerse themselves in the true artistry of editorial hair design. The event was a huge success and was attended by Sarah Jessica Parker, who presented “The Visionaire Award” to Oribe. The Rays we also officially inducted (“pinned”) into the prestigious Intercoiffure.

“The Ray’s are a unique, creative team that understand style and possess great technical ability. They have assisted Oribe on multiple occasions. The Ray’s are currently members of Oribe hair care’s advanced technical team,” said Daniel Kaner, President of Oribe Hair Care.

Samuel Cole Salon Supports Beast Cancer at Sip ‘n Shop Charity Event in Raleigh

October 13, 2011 (RALEIGH, NC) – Samuel Cole Salon participated in Sip ‘n Shop at the beautiful Wakefield Plantation TPC Clubhouse. Sip ‘n Shop was a charity event where local businesses participated by setting up booths to share information and sell their wares. Proceeds from the event benefited The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Guests visiting the Samuel Cole Salon booth registered to win a “Day of Beauty” and received tips on their hair from Master Designer, Michael Knight. Salon owners, Jack and Joelle Ray were on hand to meet with guests, as well as Salon Director, Kristina Weeks.

“This event was organized by our very dear friend, Leslie Rutherford. When she asked us to participate, we signed up immediately. All of our lives have been touched by cancer. We are always willing to lend our support to such worthy community causes,” said Joelle.

Samuel Cole Salon Selected as Stylists for Revlon Spokes Model, Elaine Irwin at Redken Celebrity Golf Event in Raleigh

October 10, 2011 (RALEIGH, NC) – Samuel Cole Salon stylists readied Revlon super model, Elaine Irwin for her appearance at Revlon’s Celebrity Golf Event at The North Ridge Country Club. Revlon teamed up with Rex Healthcare for the event. With Revlon’s support Rex plans to get a second mobile breast cancer screening unit on the road soon.

Irwin is the face of Almay Cosmetics, a division of Revlon. According Irwin’s rep, one of the most important aspects of these types of events is to make sure that the guest celebrity is pleased with their hair and makeup. To ensure this happened, Revlon placed its confidence in Samuel Cole Salon.

“We here at Revlon cannot thank you enough for your services on Monday morning for Elaine. She was the perfect choice for our event and was so relaxed and comfortable throughout the day. I am quite sure that the fact that she was totally pleased with both hair and makeup helped make that happen.
