July 2011 (CHAPEL HILL, NC) – Samuel Cole Salon Stylist, Veronique Breault was a 2011 recipient of the Beacon Award while she was a student at The Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill. The Beacon Awards are sponsored by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) as part of their Beauty Week featuring the esteemed NAHA’s (North American Hairstyling Awards). The Beacon awards are a competition in the United States and Canada for cosmetology students only. Each applicant must submit three before and after pictures of hair that they have cut, colored, and styled and a marketing project, as well as a letter of recommendation.
Out of over 4,000 submittals, Breault was one of only 100 winners. Winners went to Las Vegas for three days of education and opportunities to network with the industry’s highest profile salon owners and stylists. Beacon winners attended specialized classes with the biggest names in the industry, got up close and personal with NAHA finalists and got a firm understanding of the business of beauty. In addition, Breault attended the 2011 NAHA’s.
“I was thrilled to win such a prestigious award. I worked really hard on my application. To be recognized as one of the winners was such an honor. Getting to go to Vegas for three days and attend the NAHA’s was fantastic,” said Breault.
“We are so pleased that Veronique chose Samuel Cole Salon as she embarks on her career as a professional hairdresser. She is extremely talented and passionate about the art of hairdressing. She embodies all of the qualities that we look for in a designer – natural talent, passion, and a desire for continual advanced education,” commented Jack Ray, Samuel Cole Salon co-owner along with this wife, Joelle.
