September 19 & 20, 2010 (RALEIGH, NC) – Stylists from Samuel Cole Salon talented teams recently attended Bumble & bumble University located in New York City’s historic meat packing district. The stylists enhanced their skill set by studying with master hairdressers at Bumble in a rigorous two day course entitled Design Workshop. These stylists engaged in comprehensive theory and hands-on training covering both razor and scissor techniques, as well as consultation skills and product knowledge. They discovered new ways to hone their skills and expand their repertoire.

“I found my time at Bumble’s Design Workshop to be thoroughly inspirational. I’m excited to bring the new razoring techniques taught for both short and long hair to Samuel Cole Salon. It’s absolutely amazing to be able to take what I’ve learned and give my clients a more modern look. I can’t wait for my next visit to Bb U in New York,” said Cotterill.

September 17, 2010 (Raleigh, NC) – Samuel Cole Salon stylists lent their creative talents to fashionSPARK, a fashion event showcasing local, up-and-coming designers. The stylists created the runway looks for designer, Rima L’Amir’s Fall 2010 Collection. The event was sponsored by SPARKcon, a grass roots organization whose mission is to grow and nurture the Triangle area as the “Creative Hub of the South”.

September 2010 (Raleigh, NC) – Selected Samuel Cole Salon’s stylists relay their expert advice on remedies for limp hair and uneven layers in the Hairstyle Lounge section of the SHEKNOWS.com website. SHEKNOWS.com is a website designed to help empower women through articles and discussion related to women’s issues including beauty, relationships and parenting.

The husband and wife co-owners of Samuel Cole Salon, Jack and Joelle Ray, created three versatile trend styles just in time for the fall season during their latest photo shoot.

For the session, the Rays selected three strikingly different models—a blonde, red head and brunette—to showcase short, glamorous and trend looks, demonstrating Samuel Cole Salon’s ability to satisfy all hair needs no matter the length of hair, desired style or occasion.

The Rays were joined by Bumble and bumble’s Artistic Director, Howard McLaren, at the photo shoot. McLaren assisted by providing his industry expertise and unique eye to the image-making process.

Since the Rays recently returned from styling runway models at Armani’s fall couture fashion show in Paris, Raleigh’s New & Observer reached out to them for their fall trend forecast.

September 2010 (Raleigh, NC) – On Salon Today’s website Jack and Joelle Ray, co-owners of Samuel Cole Salon were recognized for their inspired idea to formalize a seasonal trend report for their stylists. To do so, they tapped the extensive knowledge of one of their in-house glossy fashion magazine experts and stylists and The H Factor was born. The summary assists stylists in staying on top of the latest fashion trends which can be a full time job.
