Advanced Designers Lauren, Morgan and Denise attended Bumble and bumble University’s Cut Aesthetic class in New York City’s Meatpacking District. Bb.U attracts top stylists from across the country to hone their craft by working on live models with a variety of hair types.
The three-day experience builds on fundamental skills to incorporate creativity and following your eye for cutting design. Instructor Tom Gallagher demonstrated three different haircuts for stylists to master and provided individual feedback to stylists as they worked on their models. The three haircuts – a long layered cut, a short modern shag, and a graduated bob – were all cut with a razor, which creates a light airy texture. 2017 will see celebrities losing their density for a lighter razor cut, from Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevigne to Gina Rodriguez and Lauren Conrad. The cut allows for more movement in the hair and doesn’t require a long morning styling routine, making these versatile styles easy to dress up or down this summer.
Tom encouraged me to deepen my trust in my eye for design, and to follow my instinct. I feel more liberated to let my creativity lead because I have mastered the techniques needed to execute my vision.” – Denise Ficker, Advanced Designer
